Accurate Current Monitoring Relays for Electrical Safety
As electronic and electrical systems grow more complex, ensuring their safety becomes increasingly important. Current monitoring relays provide a reliable and cost-effective solution to track and protect these systems. These devices continuously monitor current levels, helping prevent damage due to overcurrent, undercurrent, or electrical faults.
Current protection relays can detect and respond to abnormal current conditions, safeguarding motors, circuits, and other critical components. They are widely used to protect against overcurrent, undercurrent, phase failure, and phase asymmetry, ensuring the stable operation of industrial electrical systems.

Current monitoring relays monitor the overcurrent and under current conditions of the systems. Adding to this also protects the devices against overload and phase reverse, phase loss, and phase unbalance faults.
Current sensing relay when senses the current flowing through the device is greater than the defined range of current then it turns off the machine and protects the device from damage due to over current. This is referred to as over-current protection.
Over-current protection enables protecting the device from overload conditions, short circuit conditions and ground fault conditions. In this relay, trips when motor current exceeds 1.11 times of the set current.
Under Load, protection is provided by undercurrent trips. It is suitable for small pumps to avoid dry running, cavitation etc. If an overcurrent condition occurs in a circuit, it may harm the entire electronic or electrical system connected to it.
GIC’s current monitoring series has a wide range of sensing current. Plus, single-phase and three-phase models are available. It has auto/manual selection, whereas the auto mode relay will reset within 3 min to 15 min as per the setting done by the user, whereas in manual model relay will get reset when it is manually acknowledged. Also, it has failsafe protection.
