Key Responsibilities

HMI & PLC Testing

• Perform HMI testing for various industrial applications using HMI software
• Develop and test HMI screens for different applications
• Configure alarms, data logging, recipes, and related HMI functionalities
• Perform Ladder Logic and Function Block programming validation
• Test PLC functionality and application behavior
• Work on HMI and PLC products from Delta, Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Schneider
• Validate communication protocols such as MODBUS, Profibus, Profinet, and EtherCAT
• Verify serial and Ethernet communication functionality

Test Planning & Execution

• Prepare and execute testing plans within defined timelines
• Build test cases considering functional, hardware, firmware, and application parameters
• Perform Type Testing, Reliability Testing, and Component Testing
• Conduct EMI/EMC, vibration, and mechanical testing coordination with external labs
• Ensure testing activities are completed as per approved test plans
• Review hardware, firmware, and software releases before testing
• Operate electronic testing instruments and equipment during testing activities

Bug Reporting & Documentation

• Identify, analyze, and report product bugs during testing
• Participate in On Desk meetings to discuss testing issues and product defects
• Prepare effective and accurate test reports
• Maintain proper test documentation and records
• Use bug tracking systems and version control systems for issue tracking and reporting
• Ensure reports are clear, accurate, and easy to understand

Standards & Compliance

• Follow IEC standards related to Type Testing and EMC compliance
• Work with IEC61131, IEC61000, CISPR, and Safety standards
• Ensure compliance with testing procedures and quality requirements
• Coordinate with external EMC and mechanical testing labs for certification activities

Functional/Technical Competencies

• Hands on experience in HMI screen development and testing
• Experience in Ladder Logic and Function Block programming
• Knowledge of Delta, Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Schneider HMI and PLC products
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as MODBUS, Profibus, Profinet, and EtherCAT
• Understanding of serial and Ethernet communication systems
• Knowledge of IEC61131, IEC61000, CISPR, and safety standards
• Ability to design, create, and analyze test cases
• Knowledge of bug tracking systems and version control systems
• Understanding of client server architecture basics
• Basic understanding of programming languages
• Ability to operate electronic measurement and testing equipment such as DSO, multimeter, thermometer, LCR meter, and power supply
• Good understanding of electronic components, schematic diagrams, hardware design, and firmware design
• Knowledge of MS Office, Open Office, Word, and Excel
