Location: Bhubaneswar, Odisha
Experience Required: 3 to 10 years
Qualification: BE or BTech in Electronics, Instrumentation, Telecommunication, Electrical or MBA in Marketing
Employment Type: Full Time
Note: This role is open to both Sales Engineers (3–5 yrs) and Senior Sales Engineers (6–10 yrs)
About the Role
We are looking for a passionate, customer-obsessed Sales Engineer to drive sales and business development across the Bhubaneswar territory. Whether you are early in your career and hungry to prove yourself, or a seasoned Sales Engineer ready to take full ownership of a region — this role offers you the platform to do exactly that.
You will be the face of our company to customers, dealers, and channel partners in Odisha. You will hunt for new business, nurture existing accounts, and represent our technical solutions with confidence and clarity. This is not a desk job — it rewards those who are out in the field, building genuine relationships and closing meaningful deals.
What You Will Do
Lead Generation & Opportunity Management
- Identify and generate leads through direct outreach, cold calling, personal visits, website, IndiaMART, exhibitions, social media, advertisements, trade shows, market research, and employee referrals.
- Handle inward enquiries promptly — understand customer requirements and qualify the lead.
- If the lead qualifies, present the company’s solutions and give a compelling company presentation.
- Understand technical and product requirements from the customer before advancing the opportunity.
- Update all leads in CRM with complete details: name, address, bank details, payment terms, and credit terms.
Sales Execution & Pipeline Management
- If the lead qualifies further, convert it to an opportunity and update in CRM.
- Take technical approval for product demo / programming where required.
- If the product is approved by the customer, convert the lead to an opportunity and update CRM.
- Move approved opportunities to RFQ stage and manage through to order closure.
- In case of opportunity loss, inform respective stakeholders (Commercial, Technical / R&D).
- Submit samples if required by the customer.
Payment Follow-Up & CRM Discipline
- Start payment follow-up based on the payment terms agreed in the Purchase Order.
- Update appointment status and claim travel expenses in CRM.
- Prepare a daily schedule of customer visits and execute with discipline.
- Attend quarterly review meetings and ensure all data is updated in the system on time.
Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain strong, trust-based relationships with existing customers and develop new ones.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, dealers, and channel partners for business development.
- Attend business forums and trade partner events for prospecting and networking.
- Coordinate with internal teams — Sales Engineers / ASM — for business planning and review.
Who We Are Looking For
We want someone who is genuinely excited about technology, customers, and closing deals. Whether this is your fourth year in sales or your tenth — what matters most is your attitude: curious, accountable, and relentlessly customer-focused.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Knowledge of the electronics industry — products, applications, and industry terminology
- Ability to understand customer technical requirements and articulate product solutions clearly
- Basic to strong proficiency with CRM systems (to log leads, opportunities, and activities)
- Proficiency in MS Office — Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations
Behavioural & Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills — confident in front of customers and comfortable with senior stakeholders
- High accountability and dependability — you follow through on every commitment
- Customer-focused mindset — you go the extra mile because you genuinely care
- Self-starter with good territory planning and time management skills
- Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory
