About the role
The Domestic Sales Engineer will be responsible for sales and business development activities in the assigned territory. The role involves maintaining strong customer relationships, generating new business opportunities, supporting technical discussions, and achieving sales targets through effective customer engagement and market development activities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generations
- Identify the sources Direct/Website/India Mart/Exhibitions/Social sites/Advertisements/Tradeshows/Market research/Employees reference
- Cold calling/Personal visits/Handling inward enquiries
- Understanding requirement from the customer and qualifying the lead
- If Lead qualifies, giving company presentation
- Understand technical requirement and product requirement from the customer
- Update the leads in CRM (Details like Name, address, bank details, payment term and credit terms)
Opportunity
- Submitting sample if required
- If Product is approved by customer, convert the lead to an opportunity & update in CRM
- Take technical approval (Product Demo / Programming)
- In case of approval move to RFQ
- In case of loss of opportunity inform to respective stakeholders (Commercial – Management, Technical – R&D)
Payment Follow-up
- Start taking payment follow-up based on payment terms in the PO
Market Intelligence & Customer Relationship
- Gather data on available opportunities, competitive environment, competitor activities etc.
- Keep an eye on the new development in the market which can have impact on the business
- Maintain good relationships with the customers and handle customer complaints and resolve the issues at the earliest
- Seek customer feedback regularly and ensure ongoing improvement in handling the customers effectively
Sales Activities
- Preparing schedule of daily customer visits
- Update appointment status in CRM and claim travel expenses in CRM
- Attending quarterly review meeting
