About the Role

We are looking for a battle-tested, results-driven Area Sales Engineer to take ownership of sales and business development for the Gurgaon region. This is a senior-level leadership role — you will not only own your numbers but lead, coach, and develop a team of Sales Engineers to consistently exceed targets. You must be someone who thinks strategically, builds deep customer relationships, and never settles for ‘good enough’.

What You Will Do

Strategic Planning & Budgeting

  • Decide the total turnover target for the upcoming financial year for the allocated region.
  • Based on the target, determine the number of resources, regions, and dealers to be added.
  • Decide on pricing strategy and product strategy for the area.
  • Prepare, update, and review the business plan document — fix area-wide, product-wise, and quarterly targets.
  • Conduct quarterly business plan reviews and update based on changes to address shortfalls.

Key Account Management

  • Develop and maintain strategic business relationships with major accounts to promote brand awareness and profitable business.
  • Responsible for the direct sales process with major accounts, aiming to exceed sales targets.
  • Retain long-term customer relationships with established clients and acquire new customers.
  • Appoint new Dealers / Channel Partners / KDA and develop KDA accounts (Lead generation, Opportunity, RFQ & Orders, Payment follow-up, and Sales activities).
  • Provide ongoing support to high-value clients.

Market Intelligence & Customer Relationships

  • Gather data on available opportunities, competitive environment, competitor activities, and market developments.
  • Keep an eye on new developments in the market that can have an impact on the business.
  • Maintain good relationships with customers and handle customer complaints — resolve issues at the earliest.
  • Seek customer feedback regularly and ensure ongoing improvement in handling customers effectively.

Receivables Management & Reporting

  • Gather all necessary documents from internal teams and follow up on payment with clients.
  • Monitor credit and raise a flag for any potential defaulters. Conduct visits to customers to resolve issues.
  • Manage defaulters with appropriate actions accordingly.
  • Monitor and report progress on a regular basis via MIS reporting.
  • Approve claims in CRM. Prepare Sales MIS and present to Management.
  • Control departmental expenses within budget.

Team Management & Leadership

  • Hire, train, develop, motivate, coach, and manage the sales team.
  • Set KPIs and conduct performance reviews.
  • Ensure sales team competence building and help the team meet goals.
  • Take weekly review meetings and provide all support required to the team.
  • Handle succession planning for the region.
